The Proposed Route

The proposed route will connect DIA, Denver metro, foothill communities, mountain resorts, and the Eagle County Airport. The guideway will stay within the highway right-of-way wherever practicable. Stations will be off-line, located where the community chooses them to be.

Colorado Monorail Proposed Route Map

The Service
Out of state visitors will be able to book a ticket from their origination to their destination, London to Vail, for instance, with a change of "flights" at DIA, the last "flight" being the monorail. Visitors would collect their baggage in Vail, and on their return will check in at Vail and check their bags all the way back to London. The cost of a ticket from DIA to Vail will be competitive with a bus or shuttle. The express trip will take little more than an hour.

Front range residents will be able to ride from the Denver metro area to Keystone in less than an hour, stopping at several stations. Shops and restaurants will be encouraged to offer a discount to anyone who has a monorail ticket.

Multiple levels of service will be available, with an affordable economy service for front range families and frequent users.

Riders will be able to rent a car at their destination, and it is anticipated that shuttles will deliver passengers to their final destinations on demand.

Express package delivery service is being researched by existing express service providers.
